Basuki : Proyek MRT Terlambat Kena Denda Ratusan Miliar

Land Acquisition Disturbed MRT Project

Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) project in the city meets problem. Affected citizen along Fatmawati to Lebak Bulus area, South Jakarta refused to sell the land to Jakarta Provincial Government because the compensation money are not suitable with the wishes of the citizens.

We have allocated based on survey as much as Rp 35 million per meter, but they asked Rp 40 million per meter

Acting Jakarta Governor, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, said there are more 100 lands owned by the citizen around Fatmawati to Lebak bulus that must be acquitted. But the acquisition of the land is obstructed because the owners ask higher compensation than the price set by the government based on the results of the survey.

"We have allocated based on survey as much as Rp 35 million per meter, but they asked Rp 40 million per meter," Basuki said in a meeting at City Hall, Friday (11/14).

Basuki added that those lands will be used as MRT station and shelters.

"The negotiation is still running, but if the agreement can not be reached, we will give this case to the court. Please sue us in the court," Basuki uttered.

Basuki's firm stance is reasonable since the project can not be delayed. "We would lose Rp 500 billion if the project is one month late. Our target is completed in 2018," Basuki stated.
